Police raided club GP Bar and Club 99 in the Roppongi entertainment district of Tokyo on November 29 for allowing dancing in violation of the Law Regulating Adult Entertainment Businesses — a nationwide code with sections regarding nightlife activities.
Five arrests were made, including 34-year-old manager Hidenori Wakita.
Frequented by young people and foreigners, the clubs had been under surveillance for several years, the report says.
GP Bar typically serves 100 guests per evening and collects a monthly revenue of 20 million yen. The chain has two additional outlets in Tokyo’s Shibuya district.
