NARA (TR) – For a second time, the Katsuragi branch of the Nara District Court has handed a former government official a suspended sentence for engaging in sex acts with a minor that were filmed, reports the Sankei Shimbun (June 12).

On Thursday, presiding judge Joshi Igarashi found Akihiro Yoshitake, a 27-year-old former city councilor from Katsuragi City, guilty of violating child prostitution and pornography laws. The defendant received a six-month prison sentence, suspended for four years.

“In a malicious crime, the corresponding criminal liability is heavy,” the judge said.

On July 30, 2013, Yoshitake used a smartphone to film a sex session with a girl under 18 years of age inside a hotel room in Kobe. The footage was then processed into a pornographic film on a personal computer.

The defendant committed the crime in order to pay off debts accumulated from the purchase of a luxury car and the opening of a night school.

In November, Yoshitake received another suspended sentence by the same court for producing four pornographic films showing him engaging in sex with a high school girl at his residence on April 18 of last year, according to the Sankei Shimbun (Nov. 12). The films were then uploaded to the Internet.
