Husband of influencer Reika Miyazaki arrested for violating restraining order

TOKYO (TR) – Tokyo Metropolitan Police have arrested 46-year-old Keiji Kuroki, the husband of prominent businesswoman and influencer Reika Miyazaki, on suspicion of violating a domestic violence protection order, reports Josei Seven Plus (Aug. 7).

Kuroki was taken into custody at around 2:00 p.m. on July 28 after he allegedly contacted 38-year-old Miyazaki multiple times, directly breaching a court-mandated no-contact order issued in February. As of August 7, Kuroki remained in police custody.

The restraining order stems from a violent altercation earlier this year. According to entertainment industry insiders, the couple’s bedroom turned into a bloody scene on the night of January 17. During a heated argument, Kuroki allegedly assaulted his wife, prompting Miyazaki to send a desperate SOS message to relatives pleading, “Call 110!”

While an official police report was avoided that night, the physical toll on Miyazaki was severe. A medical certificate outlined a two-week recovery for full-body bruises, head lacerations, internal oral injuries, and severe neck trauma that required her to wear a cervical collar. The incident prompted Miyazaki to separate from Kuroki and pursue a divorce.

Tax evasion

The glamorous “celebrity couple” lifestyle the pair previously flaunted on social media began to unravel late last year following a massive financial scandal. A company headed by Miyazaki was exposed for evading approximately 157 million yen in taxes.

Seeking to escape media scrutiny, Kuroki temporarily relocated the family to Hawaii. However, the couple lacked the time to properly discuss the crisis until their return to Japan. Tensions eventually boiled over during a conversation, culminating in the January assault.

Banned from contacting his wife or seeing his children since the February court order, Kuroki’s frustrations recently spilled over online. In mid-July, shortly before his arrest, he posted a message on social media seemingly directed at Miyazaki: “What she’s saying is seriously yakuza. Truly a ruined life.”

Triggered by a staggering tax evasion scandal, the couple’s public downfall has now devolved into a messy and criminal domestic dispute that shows no signs of an early resolution.
