NAGOYA (TR) – Amid ongoing concern about school girls engaging in prostitution, Aichi Prefectural Police on Saturday busted a massage parlor in Naka Ward for the harmful employment of minors, reports Nippon News Network (June 27).

Police accused two managers of parlor Kawaii Juku, Eriko Sengoku, 42, Mariko Yamagishi, 44, of allowing male customers to fondle the body of a 15-year-old girl in private rooms in May and June of last year.

Both suspects have denied the allegations.

According to the Mainichi Shimbun (June 27), prices for services at Kawaii Juku begin at 5,000 yen for the first 30 minutes.

Kawaii Juku comes under the designation “JK,” an abbreviation for joshi kosei, or high school girl. In recent years, such businesses have been increasingly viewed as a hot bed of teenage prostitution.

During a visit to Kawaii Juku on an evening earlier this month, a Mainichi reported requested an 18-year-old masseuse. After the pair disappeared behind a pink curtain, the reporter was informed of basic ear-cleaning and shoulder-rubbing services. He was also made aware of a separate menu that includes far more illicit options, including full sex (starting at 30,000 yen).

The masseuse told the reporter that 95 percent of all customers choose the secondary menu. She added that she can earn between 700,000 and 800,000 yen per month by working three days a way at the parlor.

The girl, for whom the reporter was her fourth customer of the day, said that she uses the money to buy Western clothes at department stores.

“It is not scary (work),” she told Mainichi’s reporter. “I’ve grown accustomed to it.”

  1. What is it about Japanese women and the speed in which they turn to prostitution or porn to earn money – to buy western clothes what the heck does that mean most Japanese wear western clothes anyway.
