TOKYO (TR) – Tokyo Metropolitan Police on Monday announced the bust of a business in the Shibuya district sold illegal pornographic DVDs by mail order, reports TV Asahi (Aug. 11).
On Saturday, officers arrested Gon Seibun, the 43-year-old manager of the operation, located inside an apartment in Shibuya Ward, and two other employees for possessing uncensored pornographic DVDs with the intent to sell.
By law, films available in Japan are required to have genitalia properly censored.
Gon, a Korean national, has reportedly admitted to the allegations.
The operation solicited its 15,000 customers by mail. Orders were then placed via telephone a rate of 60 DVDs for 30,000 yen. A search of the apartment revealed approximately 20,000 discs.
Over a two-year period, the operation collected 140 million yen in revenue.
