TOKYO (TR) – Tokyo Metropolitan Police have filed charges against a teenage boy for threatening actress Yurina Yanagi one week after she was assaulted during a promotional event, reports the Sankei Shimbun (Dec. 15).
Police accused the suspect of writing on Twitter at the end of July that he planned to abduct the 21-year-old Yanagi
After her agency saw numerous messages on the social-networking site in which the contents suggested a sexual assault of Yanagi, it contacted the Akasaka Police Station.
However, the actress was a recent victim of violence. On December 5, a male nurse from Osaka approached Yanagi from behind and grabbed her right arm during a meet-and-greet event at the Fukuya Shoten book store in Shinjuku Ward.
In the assault case, the suspect had written on the Internet that he wished “to help” the actress.
Yanagi’s popularity rose last year after she appeared with her upper body nude on a poster advertising wine that was used in the serial drama “Massan” that runs on NHK.
