TOKYO (TR) – Tokyo Metropolitan Police last week raided a cabaret in the Roppongi entertainment district for licensing violations, reports TV Asahi (Sept. 29).

On Friday evening, officers arrested Ikuo Nishiyama, the 46-year-old manager of Miraku (@roppongimiraku), a “show pub” licensed as a restaurant, and employee Tomomi Hara, 37, for employing dancers to also serve customers — a violation of the Law Regulating Adult Entertainment Businesses.

According to police, Miraku’s approximately 10 female dancers also sit next to customers essentially as bar hostesses.

Both suspects have reportedly admitted to the allegations, according to Nippon News Network (Sept. 29).

Over the past 22 months, Miraku has collected 110 million yen in revenue, police said.

Miraku is recommended in this week’s Shukan Asahi Geino (Oct. 9) as one of Tokyo’s top drinking places for sexy entertainment. Charges begin at 4,500 yen for the first hour.
