TOKYO (TR) – A young man found collapsed and bleeding at an apartment building in Tokorozawa City on Thursday was later confirmed dead, police said, reports NHK (Dec. 27).
At around 9:40 p.m., a person passing by the apartment in Higashisumiyoshi called police to report that “someone has collapsed and there is a lot of blood nearby.”
When the police rushed to the scene, they found a young man in his 20s or 30s collapsed and bleeding on the apartment grounds. He was immediately taken to the hospital, but died about two hours later.
The man was found near the stairs at the entrance on the first floor of the building. According to investigators, the man’s body had wounds that appeared to have been made with a knife.
Police are now rushing to confirm his identity and investigating the circumstances that led to the incident.
The location is a residential area about 500 meters from Seibu Railway’s Tokorozawa Station.
