Group sought after man found beaten unconscious in Osaka park

OSAKA (TR) – Osaka Prefectural Police are searching for a group of men and women who engaged in the assault of a man who was found unconscious in a park in Toyonaka City over the weekend.

Police are searching for up to 10 men and women who fled the scene on suspicion of attempted murder, reports Mainichi Broadcasting System (Aug. 19).

At around 10:30 p.m. on Sunday, a male caller to police said that “several men and woman are assaulting a man” in the park, located in the Shonaisaiwaimachi area.

When the police arrived, they found the victim, believed to be aged in his 20s and living in Kyoto City, lying face-up with his lower body naked, his face swollen and blood coming from his mouth. He was taken to the hospital, but he remains unconscious and in critical condition.

The park is located in a residential area about 500 meters southwest of Shonai Station on the Takarazuka Main Line.

The perpetrators are also believed to be aged in their 20s. Police are now examining security camera footage to determine their whereabouts.
