On January 30 and 31, police in multiple administrative districts, including Tokyo and Akita Prefecture, arrested seven male and female employees at Crystal Tokyo, located in Mito City, Ibaraki Prefecture, Alegria (Akita City) and Kamakura Shinkan VIP Room (Iwaki City, Fukushima Prefecture).
The seven suspects have been charged with violating the Anti-Prostitution Law, which permits sex acts other than intercourse.
The crackdown coincides with the arrest of Ryuta Aratani, the 27-year-old head of service SSC, a Tokyo-based operation that supplies women to the fuzoku industry, or commercial sex trade.
Aratani, who has been charged with violating employment laws, allegedly supplied women to the bathhouses while knowing that prostitution was the intention.
