OSAKA (TR) – Law enforcement units from Shizuoka and Okayama prefectures have busted two separate operations for the sale of illegal pornographic DVDs.

Last week, Shizuoka police took Koetsu Kawauchi and Kazuo Maekawa and six other employees of a mail order business into custody for the sale of DVDs in which genitalia was not censored, according to TBS News (June 10).

The suspects operated an Internet site from inside a residence in Tennoji Ward that sold the discs for 200 each. Police also seized approximately 100,000 discs, personal computers and dubbing equipment.

Also last week, Okayama police arrested five persons from a separate operation for the digital distribution of obscene media. Police seized 30,000 discs and 16 dubbing machines from a residence in Sumiyoshi Ward, according to Sankei Sports (June 9).

In September, police in Okayama busted a business that rented illegal DVDs. The arrests in Osaka were the result of an investigation in the source of the illegal discs.
