OSAKA (TR) – Osaka Prefectural Police announced on Friday that a man under prosecution for manslaughter is among the suspects arrested for defrauding an out-call sex service, reports the Sankei Shimbun (Oct. 16).
Police arrested Masakazu Kobayashi, 68, for participating in the swindling of 1.56 million yen from a “delivery health” business operating from an apartment in Nishinari Ward. Police also arrested Eiji Yoshikawa, 50, and 36-year-old Takeshi Higashi.
On February 21, Yoshikawa is alleged to have arrived at apartment carrying an imitation police notebook. He told a female employee that the business was operating in violation of the law and that fines needed to be paid.
The fake notebook had been purchased on the Internet, police said.
All three suspects have admitted to the allegations.
According to the Sankei Shimbun (July 13), Kobayashi and two other suspects, including his wife, were arrested in July for dumping the body of Tsutomu Matsuba, 53, whose corpse was found floating face-down in Kobe Bay on June 12.
The charges against Kobayashi in the case in Kobe were later upgraded to manslaughter.
