Cleaning crew finds skeletal remains in septic tank in Osaka

OSAKA (TR) – Osaka Prefectural Police have launched an investigation after the discovery of skeletal remains in a septic tank in Kadoma City.

At around 8:45 a.m. on April 3, a male worker cleaning the tank on the first floor of unoccupied home in the Kamishimacho area and alerted police after discovering “what appears to be a human skull” inside.

According to Kadoma Police Station, the septic tank is covered by a manhole in the garage on the first floor of the three-floor home. The worker was part of a crew preparing the home for the next tenant.

After the worker opened the manhole, measuring 50 centimeters in diameter, he found a piece of cloth, the skull and multiple bones.

Police are treating the case as the result of an accident or foul play.
