MIYAGI (TR) – Miyagi Prefectural Police launched an investigation after the discovery of a male corpse on a beach in the town of Shichigahama on Thursday, reports Fuji News Network (April 28).
At just past 11:00 a.m., a resident walking along the beach tipped off police: “There’s a man collapsed at the endge of the water.”
He was confirmed dead at the scene. According to police, the man was aged in his 30s to 50s. With a slender build, he stood about about 170 centimeters tall.
The man had dark hair streaked with gray. His upper body was unclothed. The lower body was clothed in brown pants and black sneakers.
Police have no missing persons reports on file containing a description that matches the characteristics of the man. As well, no personal belongings have been found in the vicinity of the body that could lead to his identification.
The body showed no signs of external wounds. Police planned to use the results of an autopsy scheduled for Friday to determine the cause of death.
Police are treating the case as the result of foul play or an accident.
