SAITAMA (TR) – Prosecutors last week indicted a 31-year-old man living in Saitama City in connection with the murder of a woman from Ibaraki Prefecture who had gone missing seven years ago.
On July 8, the Saitama District Public Prosecutors Office indicted Jun Saito on the charge of murder with consent, reports Nippon News Network (July 8).
According to the indictment, Saito is accused of drugging 21-year-old Kaho Miyamoto at his apartment in Omiya Ward and strangled her with a rope with her consent on January 4, 2018.
Last month, police arrested Saito on suspicion of murder. However, he stated during questioning that he had “killed her with consent.”
According to investigators, a note resembling a suicide note with the woman’s name written on it was found in Saito’s apartment.

Skull and leg bones
Earlier this year, police began investigating Saito over the alleged theft of another woman’s smartphone. When they searched his apartment on May 15, they found three skull specimens lined up on a shelf with a glass sliding door and leg and neck bones.
The suspect explained that one was the skull of Miyamoto. The results of a DNA analysis proved to be a match for the victim, police said previously. The leg bones also belonged to Miyamoto.
