AICHI (TR) – A gruesome discovery was made at a park in Nagoya City on the morning of Wednesday, after a severed skeletal arm led police to uncover a fully skeletonized corpse in a nearby wooded area, reports the Sankei Shimbun (Aug. 12).
According to police, a manager at Heiwa Park in Chikusa Ward contacted authorities at around 10:00 a.m. to report finding what appeared to be human bones. The remains, consisting of a skeletonized arm from the elbow down to the fingers, were discovered at a materials storage site located approximately 250 meters south of the Heiwa Park Hall.
Officers responding to the scene immediately conducted a sweep of the surrounding area. Deep inside a stretch of woods about 100 meters away from the storage site, investigators discovered a completely skeletonized human body.
Due to the advanced state of decomposition, the age and sex of the deceased remain unknown.
Police are currently working to identify the remains and are preparing to conduct an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
