HYOGO (TR) – Hyogo Prefectural Police arrested two men for allegedly assaulting a 20-year-old driver following a road rage incident on an expressway in Nishinomiya City on Monday, reports TV Asahi (Sep. 1).
The incident unfolded as the young victim was driving home from work. According to police, a suspicious vehicle approached him from behind and suddenly began flashing its headlights. The aggressive driver then pulled alongside the victim’s car and shouted from the window, “Stop!”
The suspects then crowded the victim’s vehicle, cut in front of him, and forced him to come to a complete halt directly on the expressway.
When the 20-year-old man exited his car, he was confronted by the two suspects. A heated dispute quickly turned violent, culminating in the young man being physically assaulted and headbutted.
Police later arrested the 33-year-old driver and his accomplice.
During questioning, the 33-year-old suspect partially denied the assault allegations, offering a bizarre defense regarding the physical violence.
“There is no doubt I stopped the other party’s car,” the suspect told investigators. “But as for the headbutt, our heads just touched.”
