AICHI (TR) – Law enforcement apprehended the boyfriend of a woman whose nude body was found with a knife in her throat inside her residence in Toyota City on Sunday, reports the Yomiuri Shimbun (June 29).
At around 2:30 p.m., officers from Toyota Police Station working off a tip rushed to the apartment in Kosaka Honmachi and found Chiara Higashigawa, 19, lying face-up on the floor in the hallway by the entrance with a knife stuck in her throat.
The body of Higashikawa, an office worker, had received multiple stab wounds, primarily to the chest. She was later confirmed dead at the scene.
Police then launched a murder case. However, police later revealed that they had detained a man believed to be Higashigawa’s boyfriend. Aged in his 20s, he fled the prefecture after the incident. Police plan to question him about the matter.
Police entered the residence after receiving a call from the management company for the building. A relative of Higashigawa had contacted the company after they couldn’t get in touch with her.
