KAGOSHIMA (TR) – Police unknowingly employed for a few years a man charged with breaking into a woman’s home and sexually assaulting her, the Sankei Shimbun reported on Wednesday (Nov. 16).
On October 27, Kagoshima Prefectural Police arrested Go Nakai, 29, for allegedly breaking into a woman’s residence in Kagoshima City, Kagoshima Prefecture and sexually assaulting her on June 4, 2011. He was prosecuted on charges of rape on Monday.
Nakai was first arrested on October 7 for sexually assaulting another woman in Fukushima Prefecture. During the investigation, authorities learned he was a former police officer.
Kagoshima police hired Nakai following the assault in Kagoshima, after the screening process failed to detect his crime, and employed him for a few years until he resigned from the force citing personal reasons.
