HYOGO (TR) – Hyogo Prefectural Police launched an investigation after a 33-year-old man was fatally stabbing in an underground parking lot in Himeji City on Tuesday, reports NHK (Jan. 21).
Police believe that an unknown assailant stabbed Daisuke Kida, an office worker, in the back in the parking lot for his apartment building in Iwabatacho.
Kida was later confirmed dead, police said.
Police found bloodstains were found in the driver’s seat of his car. Since the door was left open, police suspect he was attacked as he entered his vehicle.
His wallet and mobile phone were left in one of his pocket. No murder weapon has been found.
The underground parking lot is designed so that people other than apartment residents can also enter and exit.
Police are now examining security camera footage shot in the area. The case is being treated as murder.
