TOKYO (TR) – Tokyo Metropolitan Police on Friday announced the bust of a pachinko parlor operating illegally in Shinjuku Ward, reports TV Asahi (Oct. 16).
Early Thursday morning, police raided parlor Bikkuri Man, located in the Kabukicho red-light district, and arrested three suspects, including Yuki Kobayashi, the 22-year-old manager, for allowing customers to wager on 40 high-return pachisuro (pachinko slot) machines considered to be in violation of the law.
Officers also arrested 10 male customers present at the time of the raid.
At the entrance to the parlor, two security cameras monitored customers entering the parlor, which did not include a signboard.
According to police, the operation has collected 33 million yen in revenue over the past year.
In October of last year, Kobayashi was arrested for operating a different illegal parlor in Kabukicho.
