TOKYO (TR) – A man has been arrested for allegedly assaulting and seriously injuring a male subordinate in Kodaira City after the victim told him to “work harder,” reports TV Asahi (Apr. 17).
At around midnight on Sunday, Kunihiro Tashiro, 38, allegedly beat the 24-year-old man until he was unconscious on a street. The suspect then fled the scene in a vehicle.
The victim was unconscious following the incident but has since regained consciousness, according to TBS News (Apr. 17).
Tashiro, who has been charged with assault resulting in injury, admits to the charges. “I snapped after my subordinate told me to ‘work harder,’” the suspect is quoted by police.
Prior to the incident, the pair were in a car after a night of drinking and got into an altercation over work.
Tashiro was tracked down by police on a road about three kilometers from the crime scene based on an eyewitness report. The result of a breathalyzer test given to the suspect exceeded that allowed by law, prompting police to also weigh a violation of the Road Traffic Law.
