HYOGO (TR) – Hyogo Prefectural Police last week referred a deceased 33-year-old man to prosecutors over the fatal stabbing of a female sex worker in Kobe City earlier this year.
According to Mainichi Broadcasting System (Sep. 2), investigators cited unrequited love as the motive for the murder-suicide.
On September 1, police sent papers to prosecutors regarding Ryo Tsubosaka, a self-employed resident of Osaka City’s Ikuno Ward, on suspicion of murder.
In June, Tsubosaka allegedly stabbed the 33-year-old woman in the neck and chest with a kitchen knife inside a private room of a soapland bathhouse in the Fukuhara red-light district of Hyogo Ward.
Following the fatal attack on the woman, Tsubosaka stabbed himself in the chest and subsequently died at the scene.
According to police, Tsubosaka had been a regular client of the victim, specifically requesting her services for approximately two years. Investigators believe the grisly crime was driven by his unfulfilled romantic feelings toward the woman.
Highlighting the premeditated nature of the attack, police revealed that Tsubosaka had purchased the knife in Kobe earlier on the day of the incident, just before visiting the establishment.
