TOKYO (TR) – Tokyo Metropolitan Police have arrested a 69-year-old man who molested a woman in Shinjuku Ward after luring her through a fake job opportunity, reports TBS News (April 5).

In June of last year, Tetsuo Okuda, a temporary worker, allegedly forced the woman, aged in her 20s, into a multi-tenant building where he fondled her body and licked her head.

Okuda, who has been charged with indecent assault, denies the allegations.

Prior to the incident, Okuda called out to the woman as she commuted home. After the suspect falsely claimed to be employed at an underwear company, he suggested they go to dinner together to discuss a job.

Okuda became a person of interest after police viewed security camera footage taken in the building, according to TV Asahi (April 5). Further, a DNA analysis of material left at the crime scene matched that of the suspect.

Police suspect that Okuda is likely behind several other similar incidents that have taken place in Shinjuku Ward since 2010.
