TOKYO (TR) – Tokyo Metropolitan Police on Friday announced the arrest of a manager of discount department store chain Don Quijote for sexually assaulting a woman last month in Hachioji City, reports TBS News (June 12).
In the early morning hours of May 16, Nobuaki Tsukada, the 37-year-old head of the chain’s Shiroganedai branch in Minato Ward, is alleged to have called out to the woman, an office worker in her 20s, as she commuted home and then fondled her chest and other parts of her body.
According to police, Tsukada admits to getting the woman’s attention but not to touching her.
When the suspect approached the woman, he suggested that they return home together. He then suddenly embraced her.
“If this in fact happened, the matter will be dealt with in a strict manner,” a representative of Don Quijote is quoted.
