CHIBA (TR) – Chiba Prefectural Police have arrested a professional golfer for allegedly stealing an elderly woman’s clothing after he had been seen wearing a school girl uniform, reports Sankei Sports (Oct. 5).
Early Monday morning, officers from the Narita Police Station arrested Yuki Ito in the theft of work clothes from a 71-year-old woman from her residence in the town of Sakae. He was wearing the garments at the time of his apprehension.
Just before, a passerby had alerted police after observing the suspect loitering on a road while attired in a sailor suit uniform and wig. According to police, the suspect had changed clothing in order to disguise himself.
“Wearing women’s clothes is my hobby,” Ito is quoted by police, according to TBS News (Oct. 5). The suspect also said that he steals women’s clothing since wearing them is viewed negatively.
According to the Japan Golf Association, Ito was a member of the boys national team between 2004 and 2008. The Japan Golf Tour site does not list a date for the debut of Ito as a professional.
