TOKYO (TR) – Okinawa Prefectural Police on Monday afternoon arrested a male suspect following the stabbing death of a female manager of hostess clubs earlier that same day in Okinawa City, reports Fuji News Network (Aug. 19).
At approximately 2:00 a.m. Monday morning, Junko Kyuna, 62, was stabbed in the abdomen by a male assailant with a kitchen knife at a “snack” hostess club in the Misato area. The suspect then fled the scene. Kyuna was confirmed dead one hour later.
Officers later arrested Eiyu Toyosato, 65, on murder charges.
The suspect has reportedly admitted to the allegations. “We had a dispute over money,” Toyosato is quoted by police.
According to police, the victim, who manages a number of similar establishments in the area, summoned Toyosato to the club before the stabbing, according to Nippon Network News (Aug. 19).
