
NAGANO (TR) – Nagano Prefectural Police have arrested a 38-year-old man who has admitted to killing his wife and dumping her body in Azumino City, reports Nippon News Network (Mar. 28).
At around 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, Masaya Matsuda, a company employee, allegedly killed his wife, Naomi, 34, by hitting her with a hammer. He then stowed her body underneath the floorboards of their home, located in the Hotakaariake area.
Matsuda, who has been charged with murder and abandoning a corpse, arrived at a police station just after midnight on Monday to confess to the crime.
Officers later arriving at the home found the woman’s body and a 30-centimeter-long metal hammer.
The couple’s two children also live in the home.
Police are now seeking a motive for the crime.
