Man suspected of kidnapping, raping girl in Nagasaki

NAGASAKI (TR) – Nagasaki Prefectural Police on Tuesday arrested a 22-year-old man over the alleged kidnapping and raping a teenage girl in Omura City, reports Nippon News Network (July 30).

On April 13, Atsutaka Oda, an office worker for a sports-related company, allegedly abducted the girl at a parking lot and later sexually assaulted her at a hotel.

The girl was not injured in the incident, the Omura Police Station said.

Upon his arrest on suspicion of kidnapping for indecent purposes and non-consensual sexual intercourse, Oda admitted to the allegations, police said.

According to police, Oda met the girl on social media. During their conversation, he suggested that they go for a drive or to a sauna.

The incident came to light later on April 13 after the girl’s father visited the Omura Police Station with her to report the matter.
