KANAGAWA (TR) – Kanagawa Prefectural Police are questioning a woman after the body of what is believed to be her father was found in the home they share in Chigasaki City, reports Jiji Press (Oct. 15).

At approximately 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, officers entered the residence, located in the Tomoe area, and discovered what is likely the body of Hirokazu Shishikura with a single stab wound to the stomach. The corpse had been covered with a heating blanket.

A blood-stained knife was later found in the kitchen.

After the discovery, police then sought the whereabouts of 33-year-old daughter, who was found at 7:00 a.m. the following day inside a coffee shop in Hiratsuka City.

During questioning, she hinted at involvement in the killing. Once the identity of the body is confirmed as that of Shishikura, police plan to arrest the woman on murder charges.

Earlier on Wednesday, a newspaper sales person contacted police after not being able reach anyone at the residence.
