HYOGO (TR) – Following a series of thefts of women’s underwear, Hyogo Prefectural Police have arrested a 45-year-old man who was found to be in possession of hundreds of garments that he had preserved, reports Nippon News Network (June 2).
On Wednesday, police entered the residence of Nobuhiro Horike and found approximately 400 women’s garments, each packed into a plastic bag with a drying agent. The bags were labeled with such information as the type of garment and date of theft.
In April, Horike allegedly trespassed onto a first-floor balcony of an apartment and stole 16 women’s undergarments.
According to police, the suspect, who has been charged with theft, admits to the allegations. “I did it more than once,” the suspected is quoted.
Horike became a person of interest after the examination of security camera footage taken at the apartment.
This year, approximately 50 similar thefts have taken place throughout Nishinomiya. Police are now investigating Horike for potential involvement in these other cases.
