HOKKAIDO (TR) – Hokkaido Prefectural Police have arrested a teenage girl for allegedly stabbing her father at their home in Date City on Saturday, reports TV Asahi (Oct. 30).
At around 10:00 p.m., police and emergency personnel arrived at the residence to find the man collapsed in a pool of blood after he called for an ambulance.
The man was transported to a hospital with injuries not considered life-threatening.
Police subsequently arrested his eldest daughter, 19, on suspicion of attempted murder. She allegedly stabbed him twice in the back with a kitchen knife as he watched television about one hour before the ambulance was called.
“It was ordinary for him to administer violence. I wanted to kill him because I hate him,” the girl was quoted by the Date Police Station in admitting to the injuries, according to the Sankei Shimbun (Oct. 29).
According to police, the household, which consists of the man, his wife and their four children, had not lodged complaints about domestic violence. However, the suspect was quoted as saying, “My father and I got into a fight and he slapped my face.”
