KOBE (TR) – Hyogo Prefectural Police on Saturday announced the discovery of the lower half of an adult body at the Arima hot springs area, reports the Sankei Shimbun (July 18).
At approximately 8:40 a.m., a 48-year-old woman telephoned police to report the discovery of the legs and lower back of a person entangled in drift wood along the banks of the Arima River in Kita Ward.
Due to decay, police have yet to identify the gender of the body. However, the corpse was clothed in pants typically worn by a male.
Police believe that the body washed down the river following the heavy rain that fell due to the arrival of typhoon Nangka on Thursday.
