TOKYO (TR) – Tokyo Metropolitan Police on Wednesday night busted a Chinese hostess club in the Ueno area of Taito Ward for immigration violations, reports the Sankei Shimbun (Sep. 18).
Between July 9 and September 16, the manager of Lounge Gin no Tsuki, employed two Chinese hostesses who are residing in Japan on visas designated as “Specialist in Humanities and International Services.”
The manager, a 41-year-old Chinese national, admits to the allegations. “There is a shortage of hostesses,” the suspect is quoted by police.
The charge to enter Lounge Gin no Tsuki begins at 5,000 yen for the first 60 minutes. Over the past seven years, the club collected 260 million yen, according to Nippon News Network (Sep. 18).
The two hostesses, aged 28 and 29, were also arrested for engaging in employment outside of that specified in their visas.
