Pedestrian dies after man plunges from Nagoya building

AICHI (TR) – A woman walking on a sidewalk in Nagoya who was left fighting for her life after a man plummeted from a building and landed directly on top of her has died, reports TV Asahi (July 19).

According to investigators, the incident occurred at approximately 1:00 a.m. on Sunday in the Sakae district of Naka Ward. A 29-year-old man fell from the residential building, directly hitting Tomoki Inaba, a restaurant employee who lived in the area.

Police say Inaba was walking past the scene with a friend at the time she was caught in the fatal fall.

She was confirmed dead, with the cause of death determined to be hemorrhagic shock.

The man who fell was rushed to a local hospital. He remains unconscious and is listed in critical condition.

Police are currently investigating the circumstances that led to the man’s plunge from the building.
