CHIBA (TR) – Chiba Prefectural Police have arrested an elderly American male at Narita International Airport for the illegal possession of a firearm, reports the Sankei Shimbun (Feb. 5).
At approximately 5:40 p.m. on Thursday, an X-ray machine at Terminal 1 revealed a revolver inside a carry-on bag belonging to 79-year-old Douglas Lin, who was traveling as a tourist.
Narita International Airport Police Station have charged Lin with violating the Swords and Firearms Control Law.
At the time of the discovery, Lin was transiting to a flight for Thailand after arriving from the United States.
