YAMANASHI (TR) – Yamanashi Prefectural Police have arrested a 16-year-old boy over the alleged fatal stabbing of his father their home in Minami-Alps City, reports NHK (May 24).
At around 9:40 a.m. on May 24, the boy, a high school student, turned himself in to a police station in the city. “I killed my father at home,” he said.
When police officers rushed to the home, they found the boy’s 69-year-old father lying on his bed in a state of cardiac arrest. He was bleeding from a deep wound to his neck that appeared to have been made by a knife.
The father was later confirmed dead.
A bloodstained knife was found at her home. Police then arrested the son on suspicion of attempted murder for stabbing his father to death with the knife. The boy admitted to the allegations, police said.
The boy lived with his parents, but his mother was out of the house due to work.
