AICHI (TR) – Aichi Prefectural Police have arrested a 42-year-old man for allegedly affixing a hidden camera in a heated toilet seat inside a shopping center in Okazaki City, reports NHK (June 5).
In February, Hiromitsu Kono, a temporary worker, is suspected of breaking into the women’s restroom of a commercial facility, installing a small camera inside a toilet seat in a women’s restroom and taking tosatsu (voyeur) footage of a 26-year-old female employee.
Upon his arrest, Kono, lives in Okazaki, denied the allegations. “I have never entered a women’s restroom, and I did not install a camera on the toilet seat,” he said.

According to police, he small camera was installed on the inside of the toilet seat. After February, an employee of the shopping center noticed a small hole in the seat and called the police.
Police identified Kono as the suspect after an examination of security camera footage.
