TOKYO (TR) – Former gravure idol turned adult video (AV) actress Yu Tano has fired back at online critics who labeled her recent 3-million-yen donation to Kumamoto earthquake relief as “dirty money.”
The 22-year-old, known for her 110-centimeter “L-cup” bust, took to X on Tuesday to announce her contributions to the disaster-stricken region. Alongside a friend in Hiroshima Prefecture, Tano sent emergency supplies — including beverages, sports drink powder, sanitary products, and diapers — while also donating 3 million yen through the Japanese Red Cross.
“Every time I see the news or everyone’s posts, my heart aches,” Tano wrote, urging victims to prioritize their health and safety. “What I can do is truly small, but I wanted to help even a little.”
While the announcement drew widespread praise, it also attracted detractors. When some users accused her of posting purely for attention, Tano explained her true motive. “Support shouldn’t end with self-satisfaction. I posted this hoping to expand the circle of support,” she stated.
However, the backlash took a darker turn when trolls targeted her career in the adult entertainment industry, dismissing her funds as “dirty money.”
“I have no reason to be denied”
Tano was quick to shut down the abuse.
“I have no reason to be denied the right to provide support just because of my profession,” she fired back. “A donation is a donation. I believe the most important thing is that it reaches the people who need it.”
The AV starlet is no stranger to making headlines for her off-screen actions. In June, she drew attention after utilizing her advanced life-saving certification to perform CPR on a patron who had choked and gone into cardiopulmonary arrest at a restaurant, reviving him before an ambulance arrived.
More recently, however, the actress revealed a darker side to her internet fame, disclosing last month that relentless online bullying regarding her body type had led her to develop anorexia.
