FUKUOKA (TR) – Fukuoka Prefectural Police on Tuesday arrested the younger brother of actress-singer Noriko Sakai for theft, reports the Sankei Shimbun (Oct. 2).

Police took Takeshi Yoshihara, 34, a member of the Yamaguchi-gumi organized crime group, and one other suspect into custody for allegedly breaking and entering a home in Koga City and stealing 12,000 yen from a 66-year-old woman on July 9 of last year.

“Give us money,” the suspects allegedly said while thrusting a pistol at the woman.

Regarding the allegations, Yoshihara has remained silent during police questioning.

Since December, Fukuoka and Miyazaki prefectural police have arrested Yoshihara on six occasions.

In August of 2009, Sakai’s then husband, Yuichi Takaso, was arrested for possession of stimulant drugs. She subsequently went missing for six days before being arrested herself on drug charges.

Following her arrest, Sakai did not work in the entertainment industry until announcing her return at a news conference in November of last year.
