Hokkaido elementary school teacher smeared bodily fluid on teen girl’s shoes

HOKKAIDO (TR) – Hokkaido Prefectural Police have arrested an elementary school teacher for the third time after he allegedly broke into a school and smeared bodily fluid onto the indoor shoes of a teenage student, reports Kyodo News (Nov. 2).

Katsumi Yamamoto, 55, a resident of Eniwa, Hokkaido, was re-arrested on December 2 by the Sapporo Atsubetsu Police Station on suspicion of trespassing and non-consensual indecency.

According to police, Yamamoto entered a school in Kitahiroshima on the morning of August 29. He is accused of smearing bodily fluid onto a pair of uwabaki (indoor shoes) belonging to a female student in her teens, leading her to unknowingly put them on two days later, on August 31.

Yamamoto has reportedly exercised his right to remain silent following the arrest on suspicion of trespassing and sexual assault.

The latest warrant marks the suspect’s third arrest in recent months. In September, Yamamoto was initially arrested on suspicion of trespassing at an elementary school where he had previously worked. In October, police re-arrested him over allegations of stealing shoes during an unlawful intrusion into a school.
