TOKYO (TR) – Tokyo Metropolitan Police have arrested a 41-year-old man on suspicion of public indecency after he allegedly exposed himself to young girls in Nerima Ward earlier this year, claiming that built-up stress gives him the urge to strip, reports TV Asahi (July 24).
The bizarre string of incidents took place in a quiet residential area on May 8 between 4:00 p.m. and 4:25 p.m. According to police, Sakae Fujita spotted two young girls playing on the street, at which point he took off all his clothes and exposed himself to them.
Fujita then muttered, “Excuse me,” put his clothes back on, and fled the scene on a bicycle.
However, his spree did not end there. Police say Fujita cycled to a park about 500 meters away, where he found two different girls. He once again stripped completely naked and stood in a dominant pose with his legs spread apart near the park’s entrance.
Fujita was apprehended after the girls’ guardians contacted the police. During questioning, the suspect admitted to the allegations, blaming his actions on daily pressures.
“I feel like taking my clothes off when stress builds up,” Fujita told investigators. “I don’t remember the exact dates or places, but I remember taking my clothes off and getting naked outside several times this year. I’ve done it more than once, but not as many as 10 times.”
This is not the suspect’s first time facing such charges. Nine years ago, Fujita was arrested and convicted after stripping completely naked inside a department store in Musashino City, for which he received a suspended prison sentence.
