Prosecution says ex-kickboxer killed nursery school teacher after learning of pregnancy

MIYAGI (TR) – The prosecution at the Sendai District Court last week alleged that a former kickboxer fatally stabbed a female nursery school teacher last year after learning she was pregnant, reports TBS News (Mar. 4).

At the opening of the trial at the Sendai District Court on March 4, the prosecution said that Renma Sato, 22, fatally stabbed Yuka Yukishi, 35, in the chest with a paring knife on a beach in Iwanuma City in April and abandoned her body.

Sato stands accused of murder, abandoning a corpse and other crimes. During the session, the defendant admitted to the charges.

In its opening statement, the prosecution stated that the two were in a relationship. “When Sato heard that Yukishi was pregnant, he became annoyed and planned the murder.”

Meanwhile, the defense argued that Sato was unaware of a relationship and decided to kill Yukishi after she told him, “I’ll report my pregnancy to your kickboxing gym.”

As previously reported, the body of Yukishi was found on the beach near concrete tetrapods in Iwanuma on April 13, 2025. Police accused Sato of abandoning a corpse on April 26. He was later accused of murder.

The verdict will be announced on March 17.
