Miyagi kickboxer accused of murdering woman whose body found on beach

MIYAGI (TR) – A male kickboxer in custody for allegedly abandoning the corpse of a woman from Sendai City last month has been further accused of murder, police said on May 17, reports Fuji News Network (May 18).

On the night of April 12, Renma Sato, 21, is alleged to have fatally stabbed nursery school teacher Yuka Yukishi, 35, in the chest with a knife.

Upon his arrest on suspicion of murder, Sato declined to comment, police said.

As previously reported, the body of Yukishi was found on a beach near concrete tetrapods in Iwanuma City on April 13. Police accused Sato of abandoning a corpse on April 26.

Yukishi was a resident of nearby Sendai City. Sato was an acquaintance of hers.

When the police checked Sato’s smartphone, they found a record of a phone call with Yukishi just before 7 p.m. the day before her body was found.

Yukishi’s family had filed a missing persons report when she failed to come home on April 12.

A DNA analysis of bloodstains found on the sand about 20 meters from the discovery of the body proved to be a match for Yukishi.

Police found Yukishi’s wallet in Sato’s home. As well, the knife believed to have been used in the crime was found in a park in Iwanuma City. An examination of the knife is currently underway.
