Ryoko Hirosue referred to prosecutors over in a rear-end collision

SHIZUOKA (TR) – Shizuoka Prefectural Police have referred actress Ryoko Hirosue to prosecutors in connection with a rear-end collision she caused while driving on the Shin-Tomei Expressway earlier this year, reports Nippon News Network (Nov. 13).

In April, Hirosue was driving her car inside a tunnel on the Shin-Tomei Expressway in Kakegawa City when she rear-ended a large truck, causing a male passenger to suffer broken bones.

On Thursday morning, the actress was referred to the Hamamatsu Branch of the Shizuoka District Public Prosecutors Office on suspicion of negligent driving resulting in injury.

In July, police carried out an investigation, including the conducting of an on-site inspection with Hirosue present.

According to investigators, Hirosue is believed to have been traveling at a speed of nearly 185 kilometers per hour at the time of the accident.

Police searched Hirosue’s home in April on suspicion of dangerous driving resulting in injury, but it appears they determined that applying the “dangerous driving” charge would be difficult.
