HYOGO (TR) – Hyogo Prefectural Police arrested a 36-year-old man after the decapitated body of his mother was found inside their residence in Nishinomiya City on Tuesday, reports Fuji News Network (July 16).
At around 6:40 p.m., the father of Ryo Kobayashi alerted police. “My mentally unstable son got excited after a fight with my wife and then locked himself in his room,” he said. “He may be holding my wife captive.”
Officers from the Nishinomiya Police Station arriving at the second floor of the residence in Koyoen Hinodecho found the headless body of his mother, 67, lying face-down on the floor. She was confirmed dead at the scene.
Upon his arrest on suspicion of murder, Kobayashi, of no known occupation, admitted to the allegations.
Police are investigating the circumstances that led to the incident.
