IBARAKI (TR) – Ibaraki Prefectural Police launched an investigation after a man’s body with a stab wound in the abdomen was found in a house in the town of Kawachi on Saturday, reports NHK (July 13).
At around 9:45 a.m., an acquaintance of the 73-year-old man living in the residence found the body. He then reported the matter to police through a neighbor.
According to police, the man was found dead in the kitchen on the first floor of the two-story wooden house. He had suffered a stab wound to his abdomen that was probably caused by a knife. As well, the body was in an advanced state of decay.
The front door was locked when the body was discovered. No knife that could be considered a murder weapon has been found.
Police are currently investigating whether the deceased is the man who lives in the house. Police will also use the results of an autopsy to determine the cause and time of death.
