SAGA (TR) – Saga Prefectural Police last week confirmed the identity of two bodies found at a surplus soil storage yard in Saga City as that of a construction executive and his female associate, reports the Saga Shimbun (July 30).

Between July 25 and 26, police found the skeletal remains of Ra Jisan, a 70-year-old Korean national who heads several real estate and construction firms in Shimonoseki, Yamaguchi Prefecture, and 48-year-old Chie Matsushiro, buried at the yard, which is located in the Kuboizumimachi area. Police are now planning to launch a murder case.

In the middle of August of last year, the pair left word with acquaintances that they were headed to Saga in Matsushiro’s car to attend to debt-related matters. Neither was heard from again.

In addition to the bodies, Matsushiro’s vehicle was also found buried at the yard.

Due to the stage of decay of the corpses, a cause of death has not been determined.

According to police, the yard does not have a business relationship with Jisan’s companies.
