NPB players shunning high-end soaplands for extra-inning erotic endeavors

Oniroku Dan, author of some 120 works of erotic fiction involving sadism and masochism, about 50 of which were adapted into films — including “Hana to Hebi” (Flowers and Snakes), “Kurobara Fujin” (Madame Black Rose) and “Hakujitsumu” (Daydreaming) — passed away of esophageal cancer at a Tokyo hospital on May 6, the Tokyo Chunichi Sports (May 7) announced. He was 79.

Risk of HIV infection stalks Tokyo’s 2-chome gay enclave

TOKYO (TR) – Ko is a regular in the gay quarter of 2-chome, an area filled with small blocks of roughly 300 bars, clubs, video stores and small hotels in Tokyo’s Shinjuku Ward.

Of slight build and sporting long, wavy hair, the 23-year-old provides out-call (deri heru) SM services, typically dispensed in love hotels or residences, to homosexual men. Bondage, whipping and humiliation are among his specialties.

During an interview at a coffee shop at the edge of 2-chome, Ko explains that should sexual contact be requested, a condom is a necessity. “And if I have to touch inside a customer, I’ll use rubber gloves,” he adds.

Busted Tokyo call-girl service’s VIP customer list has cops licking chops

On June 3, the Tokyo MPD’s vice squad slapped the cuffs on a baker’s dozen of people allegedly involved in call-girl ring. Shukan Jitsuwa (June 24) reports that Michinori Matsushita (age 31), the operator, was charged with having sent a 27-year-old “campaign girl” to service four male customers at hotels in Tokyo’s Shibuya district between March 18 and May 23.

But the cops were astonished to find that the scale of the operation was a lot more than they had bargained for.

“The club operated under 13 different names,” a crime reporter for a daily newspaper is quoted as saying. “The number of registered club members was about 27,000, and its revenues over the past two years is estimated to have exceeded 1 billion yen.”

The secret of the success of club “Innocent,” or “White Love” — or any of the other names by which Matsushita marketed his ladies — was that it delivered a high-quality product. He is reported to have maintained a stable of 200 females, many of whom, he claimed, worked in show business or as fashion models. Read more

Sex-trade tabloid Tokyo Manzoku News to cease publication

TOKYO (TR) – Sex-service tip sheet Tokyo Manzoku News will offer guidance through Tokyo’s adult entertainment areas for the final time next month, announced the owner of the title.

The 16-year-old publication, under the umbrella of publishing house Creators Company Connection, offers pricing and location assistance for clientele interested in fuzoku (sex-related) clubs and bars within Tokyo’s larger nightlife quarters, including Shinjuku, Ikebukuro and Shibuya.

The final issue of the 32-page sheet will hit the stands on May 13. The company cited developments in the media business as the reason for the termination. Read more

Tallying the bottom line for Tokyo women in the sex trade

The “elite” of Japan’s sex industry used to be the gals who slither in suds at deluxe soaplands.

During better times, says 27-year-old Azusa, a “foam princess” could earn as much as 500,000 yen a day. But the big-spend bubble has been pricked, and these days pickings are slim.

“We work on a commission basis, so no customers means no money,” she tells Shukan Jitsuwa (Dec. 17). “The shop guarantees 30,000 yen per diem for us to show up. But when business is slow the number of girls on duty are cut. So even if we want to work we can’t. Anyway, there’s no demand.”

To win back clients, some soaps have begun offering an increasingly rough-and-tumble range of services heretofore unavailable. These would include soku-shaku and soku-beddo (on-the-spot oral sex and intercourse as soon as the patron enters the room); the usual matto play atop an air mattress; and bareback rides. Read more
