TOKYO (TR) – Tokyo Metropolitan Police on Friday busted an SM-themed club in the Roppongi entertainment district for licensing violations, reports Fuji News Network (Nov. 16).
Officers from the Azabu Police Station raided club 10 Sluts for employing hostesses to entertain customers, a service classified under the adult-entertainment law, while being licensed as a drinking establishment. Police arrested Hidetoshi Akutsu, the 42-year-old manager of the club.
Dubbed a “bondage space,” the club offers two dance shows per evening that feature whip-carrying women attired in black leather and sporting face masks.
Officers also seized a number of items from inside the club, including ball gags, ropes, whips, collars attached to chains and stethoscopes, according to TV Asahi (Nov. 16).
Akutsu admits to the allegations. “(I did it) to increase the number of customers and boost revenue,” the manager is quoted by police.
Law enforcement had repeatedly advised management of the club about its business practices but those warnings went unheeded.
The charge to enter 10 Sluts begins at 6,000 yen. According to police, the club has collected around 100 million yen in revenue since July of 2012.
